Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

There will be a beautiful Full Moon in the fearless and adventurous sign of Sagittarius on Friday June 5th. This full moon (also known as ‘Strawberry Moon’ by the Algonquin tribes of North America to mark the strawberry harvest) is extra special with double the strength of a regular full moon for it is also a lunar eclipse.

Lunar eclipses offer us the perfect opportunity in which to close certain chapters in our lives and to let go of anything that no longer serves our highest good. It is a time for release. Therefore combine this lunar magic with the power of the full moon and you have an abundance of powerful energy for some serious spiritual spring cleaning.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the expansive planet of luck and good fortune and the 9th house of philosophy, travel, and higher learning. It is a sign that values truth above all else, yet for all their wisdom they possess a hedonistic streak which accounts for why there are so many rock and pop stars born under this sign, see Jimi Hendrix, Nicki Minaj, Ozzy Osbourne and Miley Cyrus. Sagittarians are also renowned for their openness, honesty and sense of humour, which can be seen in the likes of natives, Richard Pryor and Chrissie Teigen.

Consequently, with the sun in quick-witted Gemini and the moon residing in truth-seeking Sag, this lunar eclipse full moon will illuminate issues relating to personal growth and where we wish to expand and develop ourselves for change always starts from within. This will be a time to reconnect with our core values and confront certain truths in order to free ourselves from outdated modes of behaviour and beliefs.

A word of warning, the full moon will square Mars and Venus retrograde which could spell trouble for romantic relationships, however, with patience, love and understanding (all virtues needed more than ever at present), any issues can easily be overcome. Retrograde season is well underway and as we approach eclipse season, emotions are heightened and tensions can run high.

Themes which fall under this lunar eclipse full moon are knowledge, travel, religion and community, so utilise the energy of the Sagittarius full moon to expand your mind and your horizons.

Remember that our daily lives reflect our inner worlds, therefore consider what it is that you see when you look around you and whether there is any room for change. It all starts with you this month.

Full Moon blessings
